The new train connects Bengaluru and Belagavi, increasing local connectivity.

Karnataka is ready to welcome its 11th Wande Bharat Express, which is a semi-high-speed train connecting Bengaluru and Belgavi, increasing connectivity in the state. Approved by the Ministry of Railways, this new service has long addressed public demand for premium rail links between these two cities. Unlike earlier speculation, this will not expand the existing Bengaluru -Habbali -Daharwad Vande India, but a dedicated service. Services are expected to benefit daily passengers, students, professionals and commercial passengers by improving connectivity and reducing travel time in Kitu, R Karnataka region.
The initiative was confirmed by Belgavi MP Jagdish Sheter, who along with Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and others urged Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav for this service. A trial run was held in November 2023, initially the expansion of the Dharwad Marg was considered, but a new train was approved instead. On X, Mr. Sheter expressed happiness and gratitude to the Central Government for approving the New Vande Bharat Express.
