The authenticity of the photo is being verified, the Zomi Revolutionary Army ZRA on the alleged photo of the flag

Imphal:

Assam Rifles today stated that it is checking the authenticity of a picture, which reportedly shown a group of men in the force holding flag, which was claimed by social media users that it belongs to a rebellious group in the Northeast.

It has been said that if the photo is confirmed to be authentic, disciplinary action will be taken.

The official X handle of Assam Rifles also shared a photo with two red crosses on it, and the lesson is “being verified”.

Assam Rifles said, “The authenticity of the picture is being verified. Depending on the confirmation, appropriate disciplinary action will be initiated against all defaulters.”

“Assam rifles are committed to maintaining the ethos of force,” it said.

The Ministry of Home Affairs, Eastern Command of the Indian Army, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Governor Ak Bhalla of Manipur are among those who were tagged in the post by Assam Rifles.

Social media users alleged that the flag in the alleged photo belongs to the Zomi Revolutionary Army (ZRA), which is active in Manipur. AI-borne images and large dissolution materials have also been a major problem at Manipur, even leading to events on the ground.

The ZRA falls under the umbrella body of the eight rebel groups represented by the United People’s Front (UPF) for interaction with the Center.

Another umbrella body of 17 rebel groups represented by UPF, and Cookie National Organization (KNO) has signed suspension of the operations (SOO) agreement with the Central and State Government.

Broadly, the Sooo Agreement states that the rebels have to live in the specified camps and their weapons are kept in lock storage, to monitor regularly.

However, they face allegations of violating the ground regulations of the Suu agreement by participating in the Manipur ethnic violence between the Miti community and the cookie tribes.

The United National Liberation Front (Pambi), or UnLF (P), the only Meitei rebellious group that signed a ceasefire, also faces allegations of participating in ethnic clashes in violation of ceasefire.

The Indian Army has operational control of Assam Rifles, while the Ministry of Home Affairs has administrative control. Assam Rifles protects the border with Myanmar and conducts the Manipur Police as well as operating.
