The central government has appointed advocate Narendra Mann as Special Public Prosecutor to hear the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack case.
The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a Gazette notification in this regard on Wednesday.
The notification, signed by Joint Secretary Adijit Sinha, says that Mr. Mann has been appointed for a period of three years or till the completion of the testing of the said case, whichever is earlier,
“In the practice of powers provided by sub-stream (1) of Section 15 of Section 15 of the National Investigation Agency Act, 2008 (34 of 2008), read with the sub-stream (8) of the Indian city security Sanhita, 2023 (BNS), RC-04/2009/2009/2009/Nia/DLI NIA, in Delhi and Appellate Courts, before the NIA special courts, before the NIA special courts, this was a period of three years from the date of three years from NIA Special Courts in the NIA and Appellate Courts. For or until the completion of the testing of the said case, whichever is earlier, “the notification has been stated.
This development comes in the form of accused Tahwur Hussain Rana in the case of Mumbai terror attack, which is called one of the masterminds in India.
Rana, 64, was extradited from the US about 16 years after his arrest for his role in 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
According to sources, he will land in Delhi and is expected to be registered in a high security ward in Tihar Jail.
Sources said that all necessary preparations have already been made in jail to catch the terrorist.
Sources said that on Wednesday evening, the heroic customer of Delhi Police, who was asked to send a prison van with pilot escorts with pilot escorts by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday to the prison inmates of the Ghats.
