As Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh instigated Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri during briefing about Operation Sindoor on Wednesday morning, created a striking image, her family in Gujarat smiled proudly.
Colonel Sophia, who lives in Vadodara City, left his PhD and a teaching career to become an army officer, he said. His parents and brother Mohammad Sanjay Qureshi live in Tandalja area of the city.
Talking to reporters at her home, Sanjay said that Colonel Sophia was on the verge of finishing her PhD, when she decided to look beyond the class setting and look at the Indian Army’s olive-green uniform.
Sanjay said that his sister was inspired by his grandfather and father, as both served in the army.
Sanjay told reporters, “You can say that patriotism runs in our blood.
He was accompanied by his father Tajuddin Qureshi, mother Haneema and daughter Zara.
“My sister joined the varity as an assistant lecturer, as well as chasing his PhD in the same subject, as she wanted to become a professor. Meanwhile, she was selected in the Indian Army through the Short Service Commission (SSC) and decided to teach a career to leave her PhD and join the army.”
He said that the whole family is proud of his achievement.
Calling his sister a role model for Zara, Sanjay said that his teenage daughter has also made up his mind to join the army.
Colonel Sophia’s father Tajuddin Qureshi said that his family is only concerned about the country.
He said, “I am proud of my daughter. My family has always followed the principle of ‘Vayam Rashtrare Jagrayam’ (we will keep the nation awakened and alive). We are first Indians, and later Muslims. We are only worried about our country,” he said.
During the briefing, Colonel Sophia and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh left the Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, who made an initial statement from the government when the Indian armed forces killed nine terrorist goals in Pakistan and Poke, including the Aadhaar of Josush-e-Mohammed Garh Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Tab.
Qureshi and Singh shared the names and details of target sites by missiles on the night of May 6-7 from 1 am to 1.30 pm. Two weeks after the massacre of 26 civilians at the initiative in Jammu and Kashmir, military attacks were carried out under Operation Sindoor.
Later in the day, the Gujarat government said in a release that Colonel Sophia masters her own in 1997 and then joined the Core of Signal of the Army. Her husband is an officer in the mechanized infantry of the Indian Army, said this.
“In 2016, Colonel Sophia achieved a historic achievement, as she became the first female officer to lead an Indian military team abroad to become the only female commander to participate in 18 countries, which included a multinational military exercise participating in ‘Force 18’, which includes ASEAN Plus Country,” released.
It said that she was deployed in 2006 during a six -year tenure with the United Nations peace operations in the Congo.
