The farmer spoke frustrated to save the crop amid rain, then a call by Union Minister Shivraj Chauhan

New Delhi:

In Maharashtra, a farmer was strictly tried to save his produce from washing in a heavy decline in a heartbreaking video that rounded up social media. The video shows the disadvantages that are provoking farmers due to unseasonal rains in many Maharashtra districts.

In the video, farmer Gaurav Panwar brought his peanut crop to a market in Washim when it started raining. When the rain started getting away from his hard -earned money, Mr. Panwar was seen trying to save it with his bare hands, with helplessness on his face.

The poignant view shifted the Union Agriculture Minister, who called the farmer and assured him that his loss would be compensated.

Union Minister Shivraj Chauhan shared a video of his conversation with Mr. Panwar on X. In calls, the farmer can be heard saying that he has suffered a lot.

“This (video) hurt me. But don’t worry. The Maharashtra government is very sensitive to the issue of farmers. I have spoken to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and State Agriculture Minister. I have spoken to the collector.

“They will try to solve the issue by Monday … We are all with you,” he assured.

Mr. Panwar told the minister that since he got wet in the rain, he was feeling a little unwell.

Earlier, Maharashtra NCP (Sharad Pawar) President Jayant Patil also cited tragic video and urged the state government to take fast action to provide relief and assistance to the farmers affected.

He said in a statement, “The state is facing heavy rains, with hailstorms reported in many areas. This has caused significant damage to the crop, and the meteorological department has predicted more rainfall in the coming days. I urge the government to provide immediate assistance to the farmers affected.”
