Apple’s iPhone 17 series is expected to break the cover in September. Although the 2025 lineup is not expected to arrive for a few more months, next year’s models – rumors about the alleged iPhone 18 series – have already begun on the surface. Apple is allegedly monitored an important redesign for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The cupertino-based tech giants are expected to equip these handsets with support for the first time-display camera for face ID, and next year’s flagship iPhone model completely new screen layout. This design can serve as a transitional step towards the shift iPhone 19, which is said to mark the 20th anniversary of the iPhone with a complete performance in 2027.
The iPhone 19 can come with all-screen design in 2027
Citing several sources familiar with the case, information Reports That Apple will first use an under-display face ID camera on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The brand can remove the current pellet-shaped dynamic island from the top of the display, causing only a small hole in the top-left corner of the screen, with a front-faceing camera. All face ID hardware will be allegedly taken under the screen.
According to the design shift report, the iPhone 19 can serve as a step stone towards achieving a fully comfortable performance for the model. The set for release in 2027 will feature a “Edge-to-edge display” to mark the 20th anniversary of the iPhone at least one iPhone model.
To achieve this, Apple is allegedly planned to have a front-facing camera under the display, allowing the screen to extend any visual cutouts or bezels throughout the device without design.
Possible changes in the iPhone display correspond to earlier reports. The new design is expected to provide a true full-screen display unlike the current model, which uses a dynamic island (or a large display notch on the iPhone 16e).
It is worth noting that Apple will not be the first company to launch a smartphone with a seamless, all-screen display. The OnePlus 7 Pro launched in 2019 had a pop-up selfie camera, while the most recent red magic phones also sports all-screen displays with selfie and video chat.
The same source suggests that Apple may consider a change to release the major iPhone updates twice a year, and the scheme can be implemented soon by 2027.
