Bengaluru:
A special court in Bengaluru has postponed its decision on the petition of the Enforcement Directorate challenging Lokayukta’s “B Report” in the Mud Bhoomi case, nominating Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The court said that it will not give a decision on the petition until the final report of the Lokayukta police is filed. Judge Santosh Gajanan Bhat has directed the Lokayukta police to continue the investigation and submit a final report.
In “B report”, Lokayukta police gave a clear chit to the Chief Minister, his wife Parvati, wife’s brother and land seller due to lack of evidence. However, the ED has challenged the report and demanded a deep investigation.
Lokayukta is already investigating more than 130 others associated with the alleged scam.
Earlier, the Lokayukta police presented a preliminary report after seeing the allegations against Siddaramaiah and three others.
But the court said that the investigation should not be limited to only four persons and asked the police to investigate everyone related to the case and file a comprehensive report.
The next hearing of the case will be on 7 May.
The allocation of 14 premium sites in Mysuru in MUDA case includes allegations of illegalities by right to Mr. Siddaramaiah’s wife.
It has been alleged that the value of compensatory sites – is located in an upmarket area in Mysuru – is much higher than the land obtained by Muda.
Social workers have alleged that the state has suffered a loss of Rs 45 crore due to allocation.
Apart from Mr. Siddaramaiah and his wife, his brother -in -law Mallikrajun Swamy, Devraju and others have been nominated in the FIR registered by the Lokayukta police on 27 September.
Devraju is the person from whom Mallikrajun Swamy bought the land and gifted it to Ms. Parvati.
