The major defense staff meets Rajnath Singh amidst Indo-Pak tension


New Delhi:

General Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan reached the residence of Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday and informed him on the major decisions raised by the army to compete Pakistan after the horrific terrorist attack in Pahgam.

The meeting was called in response to the deadly attack on 22 April, during which 26 persons, mostly tourists, including a Nepali National, were brutally closed. The incident took place at 2 pm in Besaran Meadow, near Pahgam, a popular tourist city in Jammu and Kashmir. This was one of the most deadly attacks in the region since the 2019 Pulwama strike, claiming the life of 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Jawans.

Following this incident, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) teams posted on Pahalgam Terror Attack Site from April 23 have intensified the search for evidence.

Teams led by an IG, excavation and SP from the T-Anti-Terror Agency are questioning eyewitnesses observing the April 22 attack.

Additionally, the Indian Army is on high warning, many search operations to neutralize terrorists after the attack in Pahgam. The incident has expressed displeasure across the country, demanding strict action against Pakistan on the Pahgam attack, with widespread protests across the country.

Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) got on April 23 and detailed information was given on the terrorist attack in Pahgam. The CCS condemned the strongest point of view and expressed its deep condolences to the families of the victims and expected the initial recovery of the injured.

In briefing, CCS was brought out from across the border of the terrorist attack. It was noted that the attack came in view of the successful hold of elections in the center area and its stable progress towards economic development and development.

As a security measure, India has decided to withdraw its defense, Navy and aerial advisors from the Indian High Commission in Islamabad. These posts are canceled in the concerned high commissions. Five assistant employees of service advisors will also be withdrawn from both high commissions.

The overall strength of higher commissions will be brought below 30 through the current 55 further cuts, to be effective by 1 May 2025.
