Officials said the police on Saturday arrested a man and his brother to kill his wife and to bury his remains near the garbage heap a year ago.
He said that the police have recovered the remains of the skeleton of Asifa (28).
Circle Officer (CO) Bharat Sonkar said that Asifa was married to Kamil and his brother had reported the disappearance.
Asifa’s family complained that Kamil did not allow him to talk to him for two years. Subsequently, a missing complaint was lodged by Asifa’s mother at Chandpur police station on 26 March.
While working on suspicion, the police detained Kamil and his brother Adil to question.
During interrogation, Kamil revealed that he suspected Ajifa to have an affair. “On November 23, 2023, he, with the help of his brother Adil and his aunt Chandni, strangled Asifa to strangle and later buried her body,” Said.
“On his identity on Saturday, Asifa’s remains were buried in the ground near a garbage pile near his house,” the CO said.
“The pair is placed in the arrest,” he said.
The police have sent the remains for the postmortem examination and are currently looking for aunt, moonlight – who is on run.
