New York/Washington:
The US said it is imposing visa on owners, officials and senior officials of travel agencies in India to facilitate “illegal immigration” in the United States.
The State Department said in a statement on Monday, “Mission India’s Consular Affairs and Diplomatic Security Services work in our embassy every day and illegally console people engaged in immigration and human trafficking and smuggling operations to actively identify and target.”
The state department is “taking steps today to impose visa ban on owners, officials, and senior officials of the operational agencies based in India to facilitate illegal immigration to the United States”, said this.
The statement said the US “will continue to take steps to impose visa ban against owners, officials and senior officials of travel agencies to cut the foreign smuggling network”.
The Foreign Department said, “Our immigration policy is aimed at not only inform foreign nationals about the dangers of illegal immigration in the United States, but also to catch accountable individuals violating our laws, including the facilities of illegal immigration, including” American immigration laws and policies and protect Americans.
It said that this visa ban policy is global and even applies to individuals who otherwise qualify for the visa discount program.
