A woman allegedly strangled her six -year -old daughter and committed suicide at her home in Navi Mumbai, police said on Sunday.
An official said that Priyanka Kamble (26) strangled her daughter Vaishnavi and then hanged herself from the roof of her house in Ghansoli area on the night of 23 April.
He said that the woman’s husband claimed that he was suffering from high blood pressure and was in significant mental stress and frustration.
He said that after the initial discovery of deaths, the police had registered a case of accidental death. However, the Autopsy report indicated that the child’s death was due to strangulation.
The official said a case has been registered under Section 103 (1) (murder) of Section 103 (1) (murder) of the deceased woman on the basis of her husband’s complaint.
