New Delhi:
Safdarjung Hospital has achieved a new milestone with a successful conduct of a complex robot surgery on a 36 -year -old woman at her robotic surgery program, detected a giant adrenal tumor.
Medical Superintendent of Safdarjung Hospital, Dr. Sandeep Bansal said that the adrenal tumor is the largest adrenal tumor in the world, measuring 18.2 x 13.5 cm, which has been robbed robot in minimal invasive fashion.
Robotic Surgery Professor and Head of Urology and Reenal Transplant Department Dr. Dr. Pawan Vasudev Neeraj Kumar and Dr. Was held with Avishek Mandal. Anesthesia team, which Dr. Sushil, Dr. Bhavya and Dr. Megha was involved.

This process was filled with dangers because the tumor not only increased to a large size, but also encroached on it and three important body structures were followed by the inferior vena kava, liver and right kidney.
There is a need to remove the tumor in its entirety without damaging important surrounding structures. Dr. Vasudev said that accurate dissection is the key to performing such surgery and that the 3D vision of the Da Vinci robot, with its dextrus robotic weapons, allows one to perform complex surgery, which is usually possible with laparoscopy. In this case, the surgery lasted for three hours, and the tumor can be completely removed without any complexity. Post-operative recovery was uneven, and the patient was discharged in three days.
Robotic surgery provides several benefits, including small keyhole incisions, accurate work, low postoperative pain, early postoperative recovery and discharge with rapid return in work. If this surgery was performed by an open passage, it would require a skin incision of more than 20, with a need of a few weeks with full treatment, Dr. Vasudev informed.
Dr. Sandeep Bansal said that this milestone displays the expertise of Safdarjung Hospital in robot surgery and its dedication to all patients to meet the cost of cutting-edge quality healthcare.
The cost of a complex robot surgery of this nature, which was freed from the cost at Safdarjung Hospital, would be above a few lakhs in the private sector.
