Tiger kills man in Balghat in Madhya Pradesh, eats half his body

Balaghat:

A tiger killed a person in Balghat district of Madhya Pradesh on Friday and ate a large part of the body, said an official of the forest department.

The incident occurred in the Katangi forest, about 45 kilometers from the district headquarters, when Anil Aghsinh (33) was collecting tendu leaves, used to make ‘bidis’ (cigarettes in which unprotected tobacco leaves are wrapped in leaves), he said.

Gaurav Chaudhary told reporters, “Half the body was eaten by tiger. Local employees are directed to patrol in the area, and the residents are not asked to get out of their homes at night. After receiving the post -mortem report, their family will be provided financial assistance as per the rules.”

According to Kasturabai, a woman who went with Aghansinh to collect tendu leaves suddenly attacked the tiger.

She said that she heard an unconscious noise and when she went to investigate, Aghhan Singh’s body was found, after which the forest department was informed.
