To receive PM, Shashi Tharoor’s swipe at “dysfunctional” Delhi airport

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor today despite facing a delay at Delhi Airport, “timely received Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his parliamentary constituency, called it” laxity “. The Prime Minister officially arrived in Kerala to commission the Visinjam port.

Taking the X, Mr. Tharoor wrote, “Despite delay at the dysfunctional Delhi airport, he managed to land on time to get Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his arrival in his constituency.”

Welcoming Prime Minister Modi at the airport, he shared his pictures and said, “It is ready for himself (Prime Minister Modi), officially while commissioning the Visinism Port, a project that I am proud that I was involved since my establishment.”

A day before yesterday, Delhi International Airport Limited (Dial) said that flights could be delayed due to transferring air patterns to the area around the airport. However, the advisor was released only for 29 April and not for today. The Delhi Airport is yet to respond to Mr. Tharoor’s post on X.

The Indira Gandhi International Airport is facing the delay in flight due to winds and closing a runway for upgradation works.

PM to Commission Vizinjam Port

Visinjam port will be commissioned today at an estimated cost of Rs 8,867 crore. The Prime Minister was welcomed by the Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, Union Minister of State George Kurien and Mr. Tharoor at the airport. This is Prime Minister Modi’s first visit to the state in 2025.

The port commissioning is expected to keep Kerala firmly on the global maritime map and change India’s role in international trade and shipping. After the port commission, the Prime Minister will go to Andhra Pradesh and lay the foundation and dedicate many development projects worth more than Rs 58,000 crore in Amravati.
