New Delhi:
Former Chairperson of Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Dr. G Sathhesh Reddy praised indigenous systems used by the armed forces at Operation Sindoor – a targeted military strike on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan -Kabj Kashmir to avenge the Pahgam terror attack on 22 April. In a special interview with NDTV, Mr. Reddy said that India struggled with Pakistan as “Antanmarbhar” (self -sufficient).
“For any nation, it is very important to be self -sufficient. If a nation develops capabilities within itself, it will develop state -of -the -art technologies. Also, the enemy has no answer because the systems are known only to India. We fought with conflict with indigenous systems, ‘Mr. Reddy said.
“Some time ago, we were saying that the next struggle will be fought with a indigenous system, which has now become a reality. We are technically advanced, people are proud of our technologies … I am very happy. I would like to congratulate the leadership of the country. I would like to congratulate the armed forces for excellent operations done by them.”
Mr. Reddy, who served as a former advisor to the Defense Minister, said that the India-Pakistan struggle was mainly air.
He said, “It was to do with missiles, aircraft, drones and anti-drones, anti-musiles. It was an ideal coordination of devices as well as various forces, which played an important role in the conflict,” he said.
An indigenous system developed by DRDO fails Pakistan’s attacks – drone -detect, deitter and destroyed (D4) system. It is similar to the famous “Iron Dome” shield which is used by Israel to thwart rocket attacks by Gaza in Yemen and Hamas in Hauthis.
“The indigenous anti -draone system, which was being developed, including the D4 – has effectively used, which has both options of kiln abilities (soft kiln and hard kilns). We can effectively neutralize all drones.
Another indigenously developed Akash missile system played an important role in neutralizing missiles and drones and protecting cities in India when Pakistan attacked. The sky system – a surface -to -hwa system that was designed to attach several goals simultaneously – a former DRDO scientist Dr. Prahlada was developed in 15 years by Ramaro.
According to Mr. Reddy, it is a very successful missile system.
“It has been very effective against aircraft and other systems. This is the first time we have seen it active conflict. We hear that the sky has been used, and it has brought down some aircraft. The entire team of scientists who have worked on the project, are very happy. A great moment for them all.”
Mr. Reddy praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his push for indigenous systems in India.
“Since PM Modi has taken over, his insistence on the development of indigenous system has paved the way to develop and include a lot of systems. Today, indigenous materials in the armed forces are more than 65 percent, which we have never seen. I like to appreciate our industry in this way, which are an important, which are an important, which are an important drone, drones, drones.
