Without the name of Pakistan, he said, “I assure people that the Government of India will take every step which is necessary and appropriate. And we will not only get those who have carried out this incident, we will also reach those who are sitting behind the screen, they have conspired to do such nefarious work on the soil of India.”
PM Modi, who reduced his journey to Saudi Arabia and returned to Delhi this morning, condemned the attack and vowed to book the convict. In an emotional post on X tomorrow evening, Mr. Modi said, “People behind this heinous act will not be spared … Their evil agenda will never succeed. Our resolve to fight terrorism is unwavering …”

Both PM Modi and Foreign Minister have often referred to India’s response. Shri Jaishankar has said that the government has made it clear that “if you come here and do something here, you can cross the place, you can cross the international border- we will still come and reach you there”.
