Tourist died, 6 other people were injured in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir


Pahalgam:

A tourist was killed and six others were injured in a terrorist attack in Pahgam, Jammu and Kashmir today. Security forces and medical teams have participated in the area. In a telephonic conversation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked Union Minister Amit Shah to visit the attack and take all the appropriate measures, the sources said.

The gunshots were heard in the upper meadows of the Basaron Valley of Pahalgam, an area that is only on foot or horse back. The terrorists were clearly in camouflage and are considered a target attack.

Pahalgam, known for its forests, is a popular tourist place, a popular tourist place, and attracts thousands of visitors every summer.

While “hating” the attack, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that he was “surprised beyond faith”. “The criminals of this attack are animals, inhuman and worthy of contempt. No words of condemnation are enough. I send my sympathy to the families of the deceased,” they posted on X.

He said, “There is no need to say that we have seen anything directed by citizens in recent years.”

The attack comes during the peak tourist season in the valley and also that registration for this year’s Amarnath Yatra is going on across the country. The 38-day pilgrimage is scheduled to begin on July 3, by two routes, 48-km Pahalgam road in Anantnag district and other 14-km Baltal routes in Genderbal district, which is a small but stator.

During his recent visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Mr. Shah presided over a high-level security review meeting, where he paid special attention to the Jammu Division and ordered the complete elimination of terrorism. He also gave directions to ensure zero tolerance for infiltration.

Pepuls Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehboba Mufti condemned the attack on tourists and said, “Such violence is unacceptable and should be condemned”.

“Historically, Kashmir has warmly welcomed tourists, which has deepened this rare incident. Criminals require intensive investigation to do justice and investigate potential security flaws. Ensuring visitor safety is paramount, and steps should be taken to prevent future attacks.”

Ravinder Raina of BJP said, “These cowardly terrorists have targeted unarmed innocent tourists who came to meet Kashmir.”
