Gulmarg, Kashmir:
Tourists are slowly making their way in Jammu and Kashmir after a large -scale attack in Pahgam, determining that the terrorist strategy would not work. “We are not afraid, this is our country,” he told reporters.
“The terrorists just wanted to create fear. To get rid of that fear, we all should come to Kashmir,” said one of the tourists.
A woman from Karnataka said that she had come to Kashmir before the April 22 terror attack and refused to return.
“We were here when the attack took place and our 25 people went back. But I would say that our country’s Jawans are giving their best and standing in the border,” he told NDTV.
“I think we can do this at least. We should not go back when we come. It is part of India. We should enjoy this place,” he said.
On 22 April, 26 people were dropped from terrorists bullets, which was Bairsran’s beautiful meadow. All were but a tourist. The local person killed was a pony handler who was shot when he tried to protect his pony rider.
Women of Karnataka- a state that has lost many of her inhabitants in the massacre- said that the attackers were shooting people after asking their religion.
“Women who lose their husbands said. Why will they lie? Why are people here in refusal?” He said.
A woman going from Vietnam to the valley said, “We heard a lot about the situation in Kashmir … I will stay here for four days. It’s very sad what happened … The people here are very good and it is good to live here.”
