Turkish armed drone used by Pakistan against India

The Pakistani army launched the Turkish-made ‘Songs’ armed drone on Thursday night, the government said in a briefing today. The Songar, developed by the Ankara-based defense company Asisgard, is the first armed drone in the Turkish Army.

  1. The Songar comes in five variants, including non-fatal role, according to information from the product portfolio page of Asisgard on its website.
  2. Five variants are differentiated by weapons that they carry – 5.56 x 45 mm assault rifle, 2 x 40 mm grenade launcher, 6 x 40 drum -priest grenade launcher, and 3 x 81 mm mortar gripper.
  3. The non-fatal version can carry eight tear gas or smoking to the canns.
  4. This system can broadcast real -time videos and can function within mission radius up to 5 km, as ascegard. This indicates that Pakistani drones were launched with India from very close areas of the border.
  5. The grenade-lowering version has close air support capacity and can fire up to two grenades. Their effective limit is 400–450 meters.
