United Nations Security Council today to discuss India-Pakistan tension

The United Nations Security Council will be today will be found today to discuss the increasing tension between India and Pakistan after the Pahgam terror attack on 22 April.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office said yesterday that it would brief the United Nations on regional development in view of the Pahgam terror attack, including the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty by India.

“This important diplomatic step is part of Pakistan’s efforts to present accurate facts for the international community,” said a non-established member of the Security Council.

India suspended the Indus Treaty citing “continuous border terrorism” from Pakistan. Denying the responsibility, Pakistan called for a “neutral investigation”.

A week ago, India warned the United Nations to misuse Pakistan and “indulging in campaigning and make baseless allegations against India.

India has also reached eight non-established member nations of the Security Council as part of its diplomatic aggressive.

After the Pahalgam attack, India announced a link to measures against Pakistan, including the expulsion of Pakistani military attachments, suspension of the Indus Water Treaty, and immediate closure of the post of attic land-tradition.

In response, Pakistan shut down its airspace to all Indian airlines and suspended trade with New Delhi through third countries. It also dismissed the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty of India and said that under Pact, any way to prevent water flow in Pakistan would be seen as “war work”.
