A peasant son of Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh, who was selected as a local city councilor earlier this month, has been selected as the new mayor of Wellingboro, a market city in Northamptonshire in Eastern Midlands area of ​​England.

Raj Mishra, 37, was elected from Victoria ward in the city in the local elections held on 6 May and was elected the fifth mayor of the Wellingboro Town Council at an annual city council meeting on Tuesday.
