Pakistan has announced to cross the Vagah border for its citizens returning from India after the cancellation of its visa after a terrorist attack in Pahgam in Jammu and Kashmir, New Delhi, claiming 26 lives.
This decision came after many Pakistani citizens in India were trapped on the Indian side of the border in the attic.
According to a statement issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Office, “Many Pakistani patients had to return without completing their treatment, and some children have reported different families with families left out of their parents”, saying “the deadline for the return of Pakistani citizens from India, the time limit for the return of Pakistani citizens, will be open on the Wagah border in Lahore,”
Pakistan’s Foreign Office said, “The Vaga border will be open for Pakistani citizens in future.”
The Foreign Office said, “Indian decision to cancel the visa of Pakistani citizens is creating serious human challenges.”
India and Pakistan announced the cancellation of visas of each other citizens, as part of a reaction after the tension of Pahalgam terror attacks and growth.
India canceled all the visas issued with immediate effect to Pakistani citizens and gave the deadline of April 30 to return to Islamabad on the April 30, the move was interdependently replaced, leaving hundreds of families from both sides in a crowd, so that they could cut their migration and pack to leave the country.
Reports have shown that many Pakistani families, who traveled to India for medical treatment, had to return under these circumstances, while many others are still stuck on the Indian side of the border.
Media reports said that a Pakistani family who was traveling to India to treat the heart of two children had to return without receiving medical care.
Shahid Ali, father of two sick sons, said, “My children are innocent in this situation. We had to return to Pakistan without medical treatment for our two sons, who need immediate treatment. I appeal to the Government of Pakistan to arrange for treatment in another country.”
He said, “He has a heart condition, and his treatment was possible due to advanced medical treatment facilities in New Delhi. But after the incident in Pahalgam, we were immediately asked to return to Pakistan.”
In addition, many Pakistani citizens married in India are forced to separate from their families. In many cases, one of the parents, who is a Pakistani national living in India, has to return without the family due to the orders of both governments. According to reports, there are still thousands of Pakistani citizens in India who are trying to return to Pakistan.
