Opposition leaders Omar Abdullah, Asaduddin Owasi, and Shashi Tharoor made headlines for their remarks in view of the Pahalgam terror attack
New Delhi:
He is a critic of the BJP -led Central Government and is not known to imitate words. After the Pahalgam terrorist attack leaving the death of 25 tourists and a Kashmiri, three leaders of the opposition stood out for their pointed comments, which rise above the day of resentment.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah, Aimim’s Asaduddin Owasi and Congress’s Shashi Tharoor have been uneven in their political message, even won on social media on his normal critics, where his statements have been widely praised and broadcast.

Shashi Tharoor: Four-time Congress MP and a former Union Minister of Thiruvananthapuram, Mr. Tharoor, has often participated in trouble within his party for his comment, in which he praised the Narendra Modi government for his stand on the Russia-Ukraine war.
This time, the story is played differently. Several Congress leaders have been observed after the Pahalgam attack, including veteran Siddaramaiah, make headlines for off-the-Kaf comments, forcing the party’s leadership to clarify that these comments do not reflect its stance. But Mr. Tharoor is on a role.
Amidst speculation about how India responded to the attack, Mr. Tharoor said, “In my opinion, a response should be given, and there should be a message in that response. If you complete such acts, you cannot free the cost, and this era is over. The price of payment is- and tomorrow, the price will be more. If the message will not be given. If it will not be given, then the event will continue.”
The Congress MP cleverly refrained from the pit that some of his party’s allies fell. He agreed that the government should be held accountable for intelligence failure, but it was not time. “Obviously, there was no complete evidence intelligence. There was some failure … but we have found the example of Israel, according to everyone, the best intelligence services in the world, which were surprised on October 7, only two years ago. It is just two years ago. I think I think the Israel is waiting until the end of the war, which is demanding accountability, similarly, I should ever see a betform from Begle.
Mr. Tharoor’s remarks reflected political maturity and tied up with the party’s leadership position that they would return to the government in any action. Congress MP was also cruel in his Tekdown in Pakistan politician Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. After New Delhi’s move to suspend the Indus Water Treaty, the leader of the Pakistan People’s Party said, “Sindhu is ours and ours will remain, either our water will flow through it, or their blood.” In response, Mr. Tharoor said, “Pakistanis have to understand that they cannot only kill Indians with impure. We have no design on Pakistan, but if they do something, they should be prepared for response. If blood is going to flow, it will probably flow more on our side.”

Asaduddin owaisi: AIMIM Chief and Hyderabad MP Narendra Modi is one of the most vocal critics of the government. Politically, Mr. Owasi has been a virgin. While the BJP tries to portray him as a radical, the opposition claims that it is the ‘B-Team’ of the BJP. But despite being the only AIMIM MP in the Lok Sabha, Mr. Owaisi is a malignant appearance.
A barrister by education, Mr. Owaisi is currently leading his party’s opposition against the WAQF Amendment Act. However, despite his opposition against the government, the AIMIM MP has shown that political reaction to the heinous attack will be political necessary.
When the Center called an all-party meeting after the attack, Mr. Owissi said that the parties with at least five MPs were invited and objected to. After his protest, Home Minister Amit Shah invited him to the meeting and the AIMIM MP participated in it and put his views in front.
In the days after the attack, Mr. Owissi has exploded Pakistan and its leaders for his role in terrorist attacks on Indian soil. From distributing Black Armband before Friday prayer at a mosque in a mosque for the war-war-war of Pakistan politicians, the AIMIM chief has made it clear that it was not a time to search for domestic political opportunities.
The thunder on the nuclear threats of Pakistan leaders, he said, “Pakistan always talks about having an nuclear power; they need to remember that if they enter a country and kill innocent people, the country will not sit silently. It does not matter what the government is to target our land, and what you are doing, what are you doing?”
On the outbreaks of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari against India, Mr. Owasi has said that the young leader should remember that terrorism killed his mother and former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
He has also said that Pakistan was not just one hour behind but from half a century from India. Speaking against the anti -Kashmiri story by some right -wing organizations, Mr. Owissi has called for unity in this time of crisis.

Omar Abdullah: The two-time Chief Minister led his party to win the previous year’s Jammu and Kashmir Polls-the first election after the pre-election, the state lost its special status and in 2019, two center areas were held.
The Omar Abdullah government is fighting for the restoration of the state of Jammu and Kashmir and has been in a quarrel with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha appointed by the Center. In fact, weeks before the Pahalgam tragedy, Omar Abdullah’s party passed a resolution, warning the Center to “push on the wall”.
And then, the terror hit. Omar Abdullah’s first response was a post on X, in which the attack was described as “hatred”. He returned from Delhi and even though it is the responsibility of the Security Center in Jammu and Kashmir, the leaders of the National Conference are collaborating with the Center in dealing since the attack.
In post -attack weeks, Mr. Abdullah has not used the tragedy to carry forward his long state demand. Their social media posts have been measured, including a single one in which he asked the Center to ensure that innocent people do not cause collateral damage during its crack on terror. The leader of the National Conference also sent a strong message to the funeral of Kashmiri Pony Ride operator Syed Adil Hussain Shah, who died while protecting a tourist in the April 22 attack.
Yesterday in a special session of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mr. Abdullah gave a powerful message.
Mr. Abdullah said that security in Jammu and Kashmir is not the responsibility of his government, he welcomed the tourists as the Chief Minister. “As a host, it was my responsibility to ensure their safe return. I could not. I had no words to apologize. What could I say to the children who saw my father covering the blood, the naval officer’s widow who had married the day earlier?
Targeting the terrorists behind the Pahalgam attack, he said, “Those who claimed that they had done this for us. But did we ask this? Did we say that these 26 people should be sent back to the coffins in our name? Do we agree on this? None of us is not with this attack. This attack has hurried us.”
The leader of the National Conference said that Kashmir was watching a comfortable protest against the Act of Terror and the government should be cautious. “We should not do anything that makes people away from us. We should not take any action harmful to this spontaneous protest. We can control the extremism with guns, but we cannot finish it. It will end when people are with us. Today, it seems that people are reaching there,” he said.
And in a step that reflected political maturity and safety, Mr. Abdullah said that his politics is not so “cheap” that he would use this tragedy to press to demand the state.
He said, “We have talked about the state first and will do so in the future. But if I go to the center and now I am ashamed. I feel ashamed. At this point, no politics, no business rules, no state. This time is only for strong condemnation of this attack and is heartfelt support for the victims.”
