The professor of Ashok University, who came into controversy mentioning Colonel Sophia Qureshi after his social media post – Operation Sindoor has the right to speech – “the right to speech, but does not have the right to humiliate women,” the right to humiliate women, “Renu Bhatia, the Chairman of the Women’s Commission said today.
Associate Professor Ali Khan Mahmudabad was arrested on Sunday at Ashok University, when a young BJP leader of BJP filed a complaint against him with police. A few days after the Haryana Women’s Commission called her comments on her comments.
Ms. Bhatia told reporters at a press conference today, “She has insulted the daughters of our country. And I want to know what they have polished ideas? She has only been offered confusion and optics.”
Emphasizing that the Commission was well within its rights, he said, “This man keeps sharing his opinion on political parties, but we will not tolerate the women of our country. She said that the Women’s Commission thinks a lot in itself. No, we are just working within our rights,” he said.
In a Facebook post on 8 May, Mr. Mahmudabad said: “I am very happy to see so many right -wing commentators appreciating Colonel Sophia Qureshi, but perhaps they can equally demand that crowd victims, arbitrary bulldozing and others who are ready for BJP hatred people, for reality on the ground – otherwise it is just a reality – otherwise it is just laid”.
The professor has already appealed to the Supreme Court, arguing that he was exercising his right to free speech. He said that he appreciated the “firm action” of the armed forces during Operation Sindoor, and “criticized those who propagate hatred and want to destabilize India”.
The apex court will hear his appeal on Wednesday.
Asked about Madhya Pradesh Minister Vijay Shah, whose comments about Sophia Qureshi have drawn Sophia Qureshi from the Supreme Court, Ms. Bhatia said, “No one should comment on women, no one should talk wrong about women, whatever it is. I am not above the Supreme Court, whatever I am above the Supreme Court, whatever they say that we will accept it”.
Mr. Shah said in a public speech that a woman from the “same community” was sent to naked the country as people living in Pakistan.
He shocked Colonel Qureshi as a “sister of terrorists”.
The minister said, “You have widowed the sisters of our community, so a sister of your community will make you naked. (Prime Minister) Modi proved that the daughters of your community can be sent to Pakistan to take revenge.”
The apex court reprimanded the minister again for his “crossing comments”, Justice Surya Kant stressed that he did not apologize honestly.
Meanwhile, the arrest and criticism of the professor has been censored by the Congress, stating that he is being targeted for his religion.
