Apple, in its Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2025 Kenote, all went out with a full suit of updates – some of which can also be referred to as “groundbreaking” in their software platforms. Of course, highlight liquid glass remains for kenote, all-new translucent material design that will expand in all software platforms, including iOS 26, iPados 26, Macos Tahoe 26, Watchos 26, and TVOS 26.
However, a major attraction for me was the iPados upgrade that brings updates of Winding, menu bar and all McOS-style that create it more multitasking-friendly.
iOS 26: New order for iphones
The all-new glass look is also available for your iPhone. At the end of this year, the iOS 26 will be available from the iPhone 16E to iPhone SE (Second-Jen) device. Of course, the new iPhone 17 series will be launched with the latest iOS 26, which is out of the box.
New iOS 26 is now available for beta testing through Apple Developer Program
Announcing the new redesign, during Apple’s Alan Dye, VP of Human Interface, Kenote, it was compared to the final leading redesign with iOS 7 in 2013, inspired by the emergence of the retina display.
The new redisine spreads throughout the system, which has optical properties of glass and liquidity, which falls on your lock screen, home screen, control center, apps and more. It also spreads to the lock screen, where time dynamically suits your photo and the surrounding location. Then, the updated app is icons, which are designed from the liquid glass theme, which are available in both light and dark themes both in dynamic navigation and control.
Even the lock screen is re -designed, maintain the liquid glass theme
The iOS 26 also brings a tonne new features for iPhone users, such as call screening that automatically responds to unknown callers, new screening tools for spam, assistance help, choice in group messages, and more. We will break every aspect of the latest iOS 26 in our first raids which we will post after a few days.
Liquid glass change
Apple is calling it the next chapter in its software design that brings translucent content on software platforms. Although it gives a new look to the entire Apple ecosystem, it also brings glow to me from Windows Vista, which was introduced in 2007. Apple showed in his keynote speaker how liquid glass appreciates light and dark themes and sinks the content with intelligence on-screen.
The new liquid glass design is spread over iOS 26, iPados 26, Macos Tahoe 26, Watchos 26, and TVOS 26
The company also showed how control and navigation in the application will be prepared from liquid glass and fluidly changed to focus more on the contents of the user. Focus on expansion is notable, the smallest elements, such as buttons, switches, sliders, lessons and media controls, as well as large elements such as tab bar and sidebar extend to the sidebar to navigate apps. The iOS 26 also introduces re -designed control, toolbar and navigation within the application. Of course, updated design elements are spread in systems apps such as cameras, photos, safari, facetime, Apple music, Apple News and Apple Podcast. Even on the lock screen, Apple has stated how photo wallpapers with watches appear, including the entire liquidity concept with liquid glass.
Developers can now refresh the design of their apps using Swiftui, Uikit and Appkit, which have updated API.
iPados ends close to being a multitasking machine
From Keenote, the biggest overhaar for me was for iPados, which gets the McOS-style redesigns that not only looks fresh, but also makes more multitasking friendly.
The iPados will allow 26 users to customize home screens to suit liquid glass redesign
The winding system, menu bar and pointer are welcome changes, and I think my iPad can eventually change my Mac for daily tasks. While the apps still open in full -screen mode, users now have the option to show in WWDC Keenote. There is also window tiling that enables users to arrange their windows with a flicks. Then, there is a new menu bar to reach the command available within an app. Note to remember: iPados 26 also brings the ability to manage, reach and edit files. Well, with its look, the iPados definitely feels more comfortable and is possible with quick switching – it seems more multitasking – a complaint was always with many iPad users with iPados.
