Apple’s WWDC 2025 will start from June 9, and the company is expected to make several important software-related announcements at its five-day developer conference. The firm usually unveils its upcoming operating system (OS) updates for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, MACOS and other devices during the main event, which will be soon as a Kick of WWDC on Monday. Last year’s WWDC event focused on AI features, which were branded as Apple Intelligence and rolled out in stages in later months.
WWDC 2025: Kenote event details
WWDC 2025 will close PT at 10 am on 9 June, or IST at 10:30 to the audience in India. The keynote speaker will be streamful through the company’s YouTube channel, but users can also see the Kenot and subsequent online sessions through the Apple Developer App, the company’s website and the Apple TV app. Like the company’s previous WWDC events, these video will also be available to stream after the event is over.
WWDC 2025: What is expected from Apple’s developer conference
Apple is not expected to unveil new hardware in WWDC 2025, and the company recently refreshed some of its devices that were due to upgrades. The next devices expecting to unveil Apple are the iPhone 17 series of smartphones and perhaps new airpods models in the second half of 2025. Instead, the company is expected to focus on software related announcements on Monday.
Apple has so far unveiled its advanced AI-operated Siri in WWDC 2024
Apple wise
Unlike last year’s WWDC Keenote, who spent a lot of time on Apple Intelligence features for eligible iPhones and Mac computers, this year’s event may include some updates on Apple’s efforts to introduce new AI features on their equipment. The company has so far shown some apple intelligence features shown in WWDC 2026, including a modified, AI-operated Siri Assistant.
According to the details shared by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, the company has some AI tools and characteristics in development, but is unlikely to be released this year. Instead, Apple may declare that it will allow third-party developers to reach their big language models (LLMS) to support AI features within their own apps.
Software numbering changes
Apple’s software numbering is allegedly determined to change this year, and the company can release all its operating system versions with the same number. This means that IOS 18, iPados 18, Macos 15, TVOS 18, Watchos 12, and Visionos 12 updated iOS 26, iPados 26, Macos 26, TVOS 26, Watchos 26, and Visionos can come as 26.
If this claim is correct, Apple’s major software updates that have been released in the second half of the year will be counted on the basis of the coming year. Having the same version number for all its operating systems will also eliminate which software version is running on various apple devices.
IOS 26, iPados 26 and Macos 26 (Macos Tahoe)
Previous reports suggest that Apple will present a rigorous overhaul of its iOS and iPados designs this year, with some biggest changes in the interface since rolling out iOS 7 in 2013. These changes can be partially inspired by the design of visionos, which is the operating system for the Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset. Some of these visual changes are also expected to come on MACOS 26, which can be called Makos Taho.
Users can expect to see a more transportation design with elements such as glass and round app icons. Some underlying apps of Apple can also be easy to use with one hand, thanks to the “bullet” below the rumor with navigation for the tab. Meanwhile, Apple underlying apps can also find a fresh coat of paint on iOS 26. Apps such as messages can get live translation, while Apple Music App can show animated artwork on the lock screen. The shortcut app is expected to be overhaul, and the company may also announce a new gaming app.
Watchos 26, TVOS 26 and other features
According to recent reports, Apple is likely to bring some of its visual changes in Watches 26. The company’s operating system for Apple Watch is expected to get support for the third-party widget at the control center, something that is already supported on the latest version of iOS.
On the other hand, Apple’s apps on TVOS 26 can focus more on the content, and the operating system may include some transported UI elements from iOS 26. Meanwhile, Airpods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 can get support for head gestures, camera control and other features. Carplay is also expected to receive some scenes updates.
