Xiaomi 16 is expected to be unveiled in China later this year. The handset will probably come with some upgradation on the current Xiaomi 15, which was introduced in China in October 2024 with a Pro variant. A tipster shared the possible launch timeline of the alleged handset and suggested some of its major specifications. This is expected to maintain the compact size of the previous model. In particular, the company launched Base Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra variants in India in March.
Xiaomi 16 launch: we all know
Xiaomi 16 is expected to be launched in China in September, according to a Weibo Post By Tipster Smart Pikachu. The alleged handset has been touched to facilitate small screen. The approximate chip is said to come up with an increase in LPDDR6 or LPDDR5X RAM with 16MB GPU cash.
An earlier leak suggested that Xiaomi 16 is expected to pack a larger battery compared to Xiaomi 15, with a 5,400mAh battery in China with a 90W wired and 50W wireless charging support. The new leak claims that the rumor handset can be supported by 6,800mAh cell with 100W wired fast charging support.
Xiaomi 16 is said to come up with a thin and mild construction. For optics, it can get a leica-supported 50-megapixel triple rear camera setup, including a telephoto camera, similar to the current Xiaomi 15 handset. Excepted smartphones can run on Hyperos 3 out-of-the-box, which will probably be based on Android 16.
