The company has also confirmed that this next flagship handset will be one of the first phones to present the next high-end Snapdragon chip of Qualcomm.
Xiaomi is one of the first people to adopt the next generation Snapdragon chip
As part of Qualcomm and Xiaomi’s new multi-year-old agreement, later in China and other markets will continue to equip your premium smartphone with Snapdragon 8-series chips. Companies extended their cooperation 15 years after equipping their smartphone with Snapdragon processor.
The Xiaomi 15 was launched in China with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Chip in China last year, and its successor – the alleged Xiaomi 16 – will also feature Qualcomm’s next flagship processor, which is expected to come as Snapdragon Elite 2 later this year.
The announcement effectively confirms that Xiaomi 16 will be one of the first flagship smartphones to be equipped with the successor of Snapdragon 8 Elite later this year. Qualcomm says that Xiaomi will increase volume with each year of multi-year agreement.
Qualcomm has also confirmed that its Snapdragon summit will be held earlier this year from 23 September to 25 September. The annual program of the chipmaker is typically held in October, and the decision to launch its next major chip a month before normal may give phone manufacturers more time to equip your premium phone from chipset.
The successor of Snapdragon 8 Elite is asked to offer 25 percent better performance, and the next generation LPDDR can reach with support for 6 RAM. It can be produced using TSMC’s N3P (3NM) process technology, which provides more efficiency than the company’s current chipset.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi is also preparing to launch Xering 01 SoC as its own smartphone processor. The company is expected to announce more information about the chip at the end of this month. It was recently seen on Geekbench, and its benchmark score suggests that it sits between Snapdragon 8 gene 3 and Snapdragon 8 Elite in terms of performance.
The upcoming Xiaomi 15S Pro is expected to be the first smartphone to come with Xring 01, and has been slated to launch in China on 22 May. Thanks to the expanded agreement with Qualcomm, we know that Xring chip will not replace the company’s most expensive model for the coming years from Qualcomm to replace Snapdragon Chips.
