Xiaomi on Wednesday announced a new visual identity for its sub-brand Redmi in the country. The Beijing-based technology firm said that Redmi 15 5G will be the first handset to come with its updated brand identity. As part of the changes, Xiaomi’s Redmi sub-brand will have a new logo, which will feature all uppercase text in a red color. The company entered the Indian market in 2014 and celebrated its 11th anniversary in the country last month.
Xiaomi brings new Redmi logo to other markets after the start of China
In a press note, Xiaomi India stated that the new identity of its sub-brand is in line with how the company considers its user base in India. Redmi 15 5G will be the first phone of the company to facilitate the new branding on August 19.
In particular, Xiaomi first announced the latest visual identification of Redmi in November 2024, but it was limited to China. Ribranding was introduced on 27 November 2024 with a launch of the Redmi K80 series.
“The new Redmi Identification reflects this shared development. Young India is still bold, still ambitious, yet self-conscious”, Ziaomi India Chief Operating Officer Sudha Mathur said in a prepared statement on Wednesday.
Since its entry in the Indian smartphone market in 2014, Redmi has been claimed that it has sold over 220 million equipment, which adds 1.1 billion handsets that were sent to global markets. After less than two years of launching in India, the company recorded a revenue of $ 1 billion (about Rs 8,765 crore).
Redmi Note 4 (Review) was launched in India at an initial price of Rs. 9,999, Granted hard competition to other smartphones in its price section, and even something costs a little higher. Meanwhile, its Redmi 12 5G (review) and Redmi 13 5G aims to provide 5G connectivity at a cheaper price.
