The Telangana Cybercrime Police has recently registered a case against YouTuber Anvesh after alleging in a video that the Director General of Director General of Police (DGP) and five IAS officers were involved in the Rs 300 crore betting app scam.
On his YouTube channel “Naa Anveshana”, Visakhapatnam -based Anvesh posted a video in which he claimed that DGP Jetnder and IAS officials accepted the amount to allow betting apps. He also accused the officials of the abuses of misconduct through the app, stating that the authorities allowed the betting app to promote the betting app through advertisements on Hyderabad Metro Rail.
Other officials consisted of Hyderabad Metro Rail Managing Director NVS Reddy, IAS officer Sandhi Kumar, Dana Kishore and Vikas Raj.
The first Information Report (FIR) against Anvesh was registered on a complaint, which was lodged by a Naveen Kumar on a complaint, a constable working in the social media cell of the Siberbad Police. The police have called the allegations baseless and have initiated legal action against him to spread the rejected information.
Anvesh, 2.4 million customers on YouTube and 2 million followers on Instagram, claimed that a transaction of Rs 1,000 crore was done through betting apps, naming many Tollywood actors and social media affected who were promoting business.
Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) removed advertisements related to the betting app from all the metro premises following a notice of Telangana High Court in response to a petition last week.
Months after cases, cases come that cases were registered against actors Rana Daggubati, Vijay Derakonda, Prakash Raj, Manchu Laxmi, Nipi Aggarwal and 19 social media affected cases for allegedly promoting betting apps.
