YouTuber Thoppi Bus Staff detained to pointing to gun: Police

Police said the popular YouTuber Thoppi was allegedly taken into custody while pointing a gun on a private bus staff during a dispute between them in Vatkarra in the district.

The Watkara police said the incident took place on Tuesday evening and Thoppy was later released as the weapon was found to have an air gun, which does not require any license.

He said that the bus employees did not file any formal complaint against YouTuber.

According to the police, the incident allegedly occurred when the bus beaten the car in which Thoppi was traveling.

YouTuber later followed a private bus and engaged in a verbal duel with his employees in Vatkara.

The bus staff alleged that Thoppy pointed him to a gun.

A police officer said, “Both parties were brought to the police station. It was found that the pistol was just an airgun. And, the bus staff did not file a police complaint. Therefore, they were released.”

‘Thoppy’, whose original name is Nihad Hai, has millions of customers on his YouTube channel.

He was recently publicly booked by the police to publicly make objectionable remarks and to create a traffic block on a busy road in connection with the inauguration of a local shop in Malappuram.
